Abstract:

Relevance: the optimal level of aggression and a high level of mental health among cadets and fu-ture military personnel will further determine their combat capability in carrying out tasks to pro-tect the Motherland. Scientific novelty. The influence of personal aggressiveness on the compo-nents of mental health of students in military universities is revealed. Practical significance. The focus of pedagogical influences on cadets to prevent their personal aggressiveness is determined: to study the influence of personal aggressiveness over mental health parameters and its improve-ment among students in military universities. Objective: to study the influence of personal aggres-siveness on the parameters of mental health and its improvement in students at military universi-ties. Materials and methods. The empirical sample consisted of 136 cadets studying in military educational institutions between the ages of 17 and 25. 85-95% of the cadets were engaged in various sports. The mental health and personal aggressiveness of the subjects were diagnosed us ing a self-assessment technique on a ten point scale. The primary data was calculated by calculat ing the correlation coefficients. Results. The definition of personal aggressiveness and mental health concepts of students in military universities is proposed. The correlation analysis revealed three groups of relationships: positive and negative, reliable and unreliable. Conclusion. Personal aggressiveness among cadets has a negative impact over the following individual components of mental health: emotional excitability, irritability, personal anxiety, nervous energy waste, the need for time to rest and recover. This dependence means that the higher the severity of aggression manifested in a group of cadets, the higher the irritability, personal anxiety, and the higher the nervous energy expenditure, which requires more time to rest and restore it. Personal aggressive-ness also has a negative impact over the components of mental health: permanent mood, the psy-chological climate in the study group, the ability to get out of stressful situations, the level of night sleep and the integral level of mental health.
