Comparative analysis of physical readiness in the first course cadets during autumn and spring terms. Existing problems and the ways of their solution

Abstract:

One of the urgent problems nowadays stays the problem of physical training among the power department members (Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Federal Penitentiary Service (FPS), Emergencies Ministry (EM), Federal Security Service (FSS), Ministry of Defense (MD)). They provide safety, law inside the country and protect state borders from external threat. That is why in order to realize state objectives the members of power departments should have high level of physical fitness. Physical training is the part of professional-applied training of the power department member and takes a leading place in it. Practical physical culture lessons are directed toward the definite skills and abilities, physical and psychic qualities gaining. It in the future would help to fulfill successfully operating missions. Materials. The article considers physical readiness of the first course cadets by the example of Perm Institute of FPS of Russia, its level at the beginning and at the end of the academic year. Research methods. Information sources analysis and summarizing, physical readiness testing, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. We revealed the problems in cadets’ quickness and endurance development, considered the ways of their improvement by means of track and field athletics in order to train for further service in correctional system (CS). Conclusion. It is necessary to correct the existing program of “Physical training” discipline in order to increase the hours given to track and field athletics. The advantage of such correction is in the following: track and field athletics means has wide resources for multidirectional physical training. A wide spectrum of readiness is one of the most important objectives of cadets’ physical training.
