Abstract:

It was stated scientifically that a person’s organism has a significant factor of safety. It means that an organism has a great functional reserve. It is used during sports competitions and during different unpredictable situations for life and own health safety. Materials. The importance of physiological indices of cardiorespiratory system revelation for functional reserves of organism determination in the athletes of different ages, gender and kind of sport. Research methods. Information sources analysis and summarizing, the methodology by V. Kubichek with co-authors (1970) in modification of Yu.P. Pushkar with co-authors (1980) and Yu.S. Vanyushin (1996), cardiovascular and respiratory systems indices registration during the functional loads of different orientation and the increasing power, methods of mathematical statistics. Results. In terms of maximal load, which is seen in the group of 15-16 year-old teen-agers, the functional reserve can be defined according to the indices of the external respiration. Functional reserve can be defined according to the volume of heart rate in the group of women, in the groups of teenagers and 17-21 year-old boys. The functional reserve according to heart pumping ability can be defined in the groups of men and boys. They are involved into endurance oriented kinds of sport. Conclusion. Age related and gender characteristics of those, who are involved into sport and kinds of sport influence the characteristics of the functional reserves of athletes’ organisms.
