Abstract:
The research is aimed at studying the health status of university students and the relationship between their health status and motivation to engage in physical education and sports. A comparative analysis of the issues studied at the pedagogical and technical universities of Moscow and the Moscow region is carried out and differences in the assessments of the health status of respondents from these educational organizations are shown. Material. The results of a survey of respondents from four universities in Moscow and the Moscow region on motivation to engage in physical culture and sports are presented, the relationship between motivation and the state of health of students, factors influencing motivation to exercise are considered. Research methods. An analysis of scientific literature, a survey of students from four universities in Moscow and the Moscow region, an analysis of their health status, the dynamics of health changes during training and the motives for physical exercise and sports, methods of statistical processing of the survey results. Results. The factors influencing motivation indicators and their relationship with the assessment of the health status of students in Moscow and the Moscow region are identified, the direction of changes in the health status of students during their studies in educational organizations affecting the effectiveness of the learning process is established. Conclusion. The study identifies general trends in students' assessment of their health, features of changes in the state of health of students during their studies, provides an analysis of the motives of students of pedagogical and technical universities to engage in physical exercise and sports, as well as the reasons leading to a decrease in students' motivation to engage in physical culture and sports. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the study consists in a comprehensive study of the state of students’ health and factors affecting motivation to engage in physical education and sports. Practical significance. Trends in changes in the state of students’ health during their studies and factors affecting motivation to engage in physical education, indicating a decrease in the effectiveness of training future specialists for professional activity are identified.
