Abstract:

Sports culture development among young people would help to make it easier to achieve the main target indicators of physical culture and sport improvement in the Russian Federation owing to motivational- requiremental (intensional) part of the involvement process into physical culture and sports activity. However, for its axiological component development, the system of motivation and qualitative indices estimation formation of population involvement into sports activity, apart from structural (axiological) part, it is necessary to reveal personalitypsychological factors of sports culture. Materials. Sports culture phenomenon is characterized by multiaspect nature, however, we can define one essential definition of sports culture as personality conditioned integral characteristic of a person and personality-psychological peculiarities can be considered as its factors/determinants. We studied the factors of sports culture development among students by means of factorial analysis. Research methods. Scientific sources analysis, methodology of the leading activity motive revelation, L.N. Sobchik questionnaire, “Mini-mult” questionnaire, T. Elers tests. Results. The first factor "Utilitarian-pragmatic sports culture" covers 17.2% of the total variance and includes 7 variables: paranoia (0.681), rigidity (0.718), aggressiveness (0.884), motivation orientation failures avoidance (0.543), anxiety (0.404), low self-esteem (0.418), exaggerated self-assessment (0.423). The second factor "Humanistic sports culture" covers 14.8% of the total variance and includes the following variables: extraversion (0.502), paranoia (0.427), lability/emotivity (0.538), conformity (0.711). The degree of severity of the intersecting variable "paranoia" was 78±2.21 T-points, and 53.6±2.43 T-points (according to the Student's t-criterion: t = 2.12, p≤0.05). Conclusion. One of the conditions for sports culture development among students is its personality-psychological factors revelation. During the empiric research we managed to form the summarized image of personality orientation with the definite type of sports culture. Among people with utilitarian-pragmatic type the leading motive of sports activity is leadership, the need for power and dominance. The defining these motives need is the need for safety (personality’s status safety). One of the ways to form motivation in this case would be an appeal for achievements, leadership and the risks of personal vulnerability decrease by means of sport. Among people with humanistic type of sports culture predominance the leading motives are the following: desire to have maximal social adaptation and effectiveness, basic need – the need for social identity and acknowledgement. Involvement into sports activity in this case would be provided by appeal for mass tendency of sport actualization as the means of personal self-actualization. Further direction of the activity in terms of this research work is a diagnostic instrument creation for students’ level of sports culture determination.
