Development of sport for children and young people in rural areas (by the example of the Suntar ulus of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia))

Abstract:

During recent years we see the tendency of improvement among the main indices of physical culture and sport development. The expenses of the state connected with physical culture and sport among citizens form economically effective investment into human potential development and the life quality improvement among the citizens of Russia. The level of physical culture and sport development in the regions is an important health index of the nation and power of Russia. Material. The article considers the peculiarities of sport for children and young people development in terms of rural areas. Research methods. Information sources, the reports of the Republican center of sports reserve training and the sites data of Sports school for children and teen-agers of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) analysis and summarizing. Results. Sports school for children and teen-agers in Suntar ulus has a rich history and it made a great contribution to sport development in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Coaching staff organizes the training process in a way to develop and broaden mass sport and train sports reserve of the ulus. 8 kinds of sport are developed at Sports school for children and teen-agers in Suntar ulus. 3 of them are the national kinds of sport and 2 are competitive kinds of sport and also table tennis, draughts and freestyle wrestling. In 2019 the amount of children involved into sport increased by 14%. Within 2018-2020 the norm of Candidate Master of Sports was fulfilled by one young athlete, the 1st category got 9 athletes, other categories were received by 282 athletes. During the period since 2018 till 2020 26 athletes took part in the Russian competitions, including freestyle wrestling- 13 athletes, mas-wrestling- 9 athletes, table tennis – 1 athlete, draughts – 3 athletes. Conclusion. At Sports school for children and teen-agers in Suntar ulus different kinds of sport are actively developed. Young athletes achieve the results at different levels and realize the norms. The school has units in 5 educational establishments of the ulus.
