The request of a young hockey player as the basis for determining the criteria of psychological and pedagogical readiness of parents to the process of supporting sports improvement

Abstract:

The demonstration of psychological and pedagogical competence of the behavior and activities of hockey players’ parents are due to the successful interaction of the coach and the parent of the young athlete, position of their own role as the leading and determining one in building the sports behavior of a young athlete. At the same time, the judgments, wishes and requests of young athletes are not fully considered. Materials. To identify behavioral characteristics of psychological and pedagogical competence of parents to accompany the process of sports improvement of young hockey players and to confirm the significance of their directed development and activity demonstration. Research methods: Analysis and summarizing scientific literature, questionnaires, interviewing, semantic analysis of statements, classification, methods of descriptive statistics, correlation analysis. Results. The study concentrates on behavioral characteristics of psychological and pedagogical competence of parents in supporting the process of sports improvement of young hockey players and confirms the importance of their directed development and activity manifestation. Semantic constructs of young hockey players’ requests are highlighted, characterizing psychological and pedagogical features of the behavior of a competent parent; pedagogical mistakes of a parent in the process of perceiving successful and unsuccessful procedural and productive characteristics of the training and competitive activities of a hockey player child; the range of psychological and pedagogical abilities necessary for a parent. The presented semantic blocks of evaluations have a high correlation dependence of the psychological and pedagogical competence indicators of a parent demanded by young hockey players. This increases the importance of the parent’s improvement of regulatory, intellectual, willful, communicative abilities, self-education of humane qualities, the foundations of a culture of cooperation. The range of key professionally significant abilities of a hockey coach is defined, including: “patience”, “intelligence”, “fortitude”, “experience of constructive interaction in the process of achieving victories”. Conclusion. This allows us to state a significant degree of maturity of the young athletes’ personality in the self-determination of the resource strategies of the parent’s behavior that contribute to the personal and athletic improvement of the child.
