Transformation of the future physical education teachers practice-oriented training content in the context of modern challenges

Abstract:

The article proves the relevance of practice-oriented training content transformation among the future physical education teachers in the aspect of soft skills development. Meta-skills, or mental skills, determine psychological readiness for fragility, nonlinearity, incomprehensibility and complexity of the modern world. Therefore, the aim of the study is theoretical-methodological and empirical study of the mental competencies content as the basis for the content transformation of training the future physical education teachers. Materials and Research methods. The main research methods are the following: scientific sources analysis connected with the problem of studying mental skills and metacognitions, diagnostic methods, including a multidimensional questionnaire “Ottawa test of mental Skills (adapted by K.A. Bochaver and L.M. Dovzhik), differential type of reflection (D.A. Leontiev, E.N. Osin). For statistical processing of measurement results we used “SPSS v 17.0” software, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis (according to Pearson), Fisher’s criterion φ*. Results. At the first stage of the pilot study, we described the peculiarities of mental skills for each type of reflection: for respondents with developed system reflection, the predominance of “Purposefulness” and “Planning” is typical, the mental skill of “Anxiety Control” is associated with medium and low indices of system reflection. In the group of respondents with developed introspection predominate ideomotion and imagination. High indices of quasi-reflection are typical for the respondents with developed mental skills of “Self-confidence” and “Anxiety control. At the second stage of our pilot study, we introduced a system of transdisciplinary practice-oriented cases into the content of practice-oriented training of the future teachers. The results the cases introduction was statistically significant change in the level of the following mental skills development: “Purposefulness”, “Concentration”, “Planning”. Conclusion. The transformation of the practice-oriented training content includes the formation of “new competencies”, oriented toward cognitive position of the future physical education teachers’ personality activating, and which develop not only mental skills while transdisciplinary cases solution, but also enrich the process of higher pedagogical education with new targets.
